White Coat Ceremony

The American University of the Caribbean White Coat Ceremony is a time-honored tradition that students, faculty, staff and administration participate and take pride in each semester. The Student Government Association organizes and hosts this memorable occasion. It is a source of pride not only for the incoming students and their families but also a commitment by the existing students, faculty and administration to inspire and formally recognize the responsibilities that such an opportunity to study medicine entails. Moreover, the ceremony marks the celebration of the outstanding academic accomplishments of our Fifth semester students, who are nearing the completion of their Medical Sciences, by inducting them into the Alpha Phi Omega Honor Society. The White Coat ceremony also honors faculty and the extracurricular accomplishments of individual students and student organizations.

The white coat ceremony is typically held at AUC on the second Friday of each new semester. A dinner reception follows the ceremony where family and friends of new students can meet and network with other students, faculty and administration. Students will be able to purchase their AUC white coat on campus starting the first week of classes.
