Baton Rouge General Medical Center is a full-service community hospital with 527 licensed beds between two campuses. As the first hospital in Baton Rouge, opening its doors in 1900, Baton Rouge General has a long history of groundbreaking milestones, as well as providing the Greater Baton Rouge community with high quality healthcare for generations.

Brentwood Behavioral Health Company

Brentwood Behavioral Health Company is a 200-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility serving Louisiana, East Texas and South Arkansas for over 31 years. Quality service is provided to children, adolescents and adults. The diverse medical staff is comprised of specialties such as board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, board certification in General Psychiatry, board certification in Addiction Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) certification, board certified in Geriatric Psychiatry, Forensic Medicine and Pain Management. Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center

Graduate Medical Education at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center is based on the premise that well-educated and well-trained residents become practicing physicians that provide high quality, responsive, and compassionate patient care. As the sole sponsor of 14 residency and fellowship programs in the specialties of addiction psychiatry; child and adolescent psychiatry; general dentistry; pediatric dentistry; family medicine; gastroenterology; internal medicine; obstetrics and gynecology; ophthalmology; pediatrics; psychiatry; pulmonary medicine; radiology; and surgery, Bronx-Lebanon annually trains more than 300 residents from culturally diverse backgrounds.

An outstanding Bronx-Lebanon clinical faculty, most holding academic appointments at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, provide residents with competency-based education centered around the six core competencies of medical knowledge, patient care, practice-based learning, systems based practice, professionalism, and interpersonal communication skills.

All programs, with the exception of the dental training program (which is American Dental Association approved), are fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Bronx-Lebanon’s residents, in addition to being students, are also actively engaged in activities that promote patient safety and ensure quality care, including full compliance with the “National Safety Goals” promulgated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), a major accrediting organization.

Core rotations available for AUC students include Internal Medicine (12 weeks), Surgery (12 Weeks) and Pediatrics (6 Weeks). Elective rotations available include Family Practice (6 Weeks), Subspecialties in Core areas, Addiction Psychiatry, Cardiovascular Disease, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dermatology, Medical Genetics, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Disease, Radiology, Urology, Family Medicine  HIV, Family Medicine Geriatrics and Family Medicine Research ( all 4 weeks).

Brooklyn Hospital

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is approved for the residency training by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The purpose of Graduate Medical Education (GME) is to provide an organized educational program with guidance and supervision of the student/resident, facilitating the student/resident’s ethical, professional and personal development while ensuring safe and appropriate care for patients. The GME Center is located in the 7th floor of the Maynard Building. Core rotations available for AUC students include Internal Medicine (12 weeks), Surgery (12 Weeks), OB/GYN (6 Weeks), Pediatrics (6 Weeks), and Family Practice (6 Weeks). Elective rotations available are Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hematology/ Oncology, Pulmonary, and Oral Maxillo Facial Surgery.
 

Center for Haitian Studies 

The Center for Haitian Studies, Health and Human Services (CHS) is a community-based non-profit corporation which provides a wide range of social and health services primarily to the underserved population of Miami-Dade County, Florida. CHS, in collaboration with its academic affiliates, offers an excellent opportunity to local, national and international medical students,medical residents, student nurses, student medical assistant and nurse practitioner students to obtain culturally competent educational experience.
 

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center  

Crittenton provides a full continuum of clinical programs nationally ranked for quality excellence and a medical staff of nearly 500 physicians, representing a wide range of medical specialties providing primary, secondary and tertiary-level care. Crittenton has newly-renovated facilities and cutting-edge technology for providing patients with the most advanced medical care on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.
 

Flushing Hospital Medical Center

Flushing Hospital opened in 1884 and has gown to meet the community's needs. It is a 325 bed not-for-profit teaching hospital offering a full array of primary and specialty health care services to the Queens community including their recently renovated Emergency Department and state of the art Labor, Delivery & Recovery Suites. 

 

Griffin Hospital

Griffin Hospital Residency Programs combine the academic advantages of an internationally recognized university medical center with an excellent progressive, medium-sized community hospital. The facility provides care for approximately 100,000 people who live in six towns, an area known as the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

In collaboration with Yale University School of Public Health, Griffin offers most innovative training programs in Combined Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine. It also offers Preliminary Medicine, Categorical Internal Medicine and Transitional Residency Programs. Griffin Hospital also co-sponsors a Surgery residency with St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. Griffin Hospital is a member of the Planetree Alliance, a San Francisco based-organization with a strong belief in patient-focused care.

AUC students are eligible to undertake core clinical rotations in the areas of Internal Medicine and Surgery at Griffin Hospital. The required elective rotation in Family Practice is also available. Residents are provided with an intense teaching program in a personalized, friendly and stimulating atmosphere. The various clinical departments are closely integrated and readily accessible, allowing for excellent, personal communication.

Kern Medical Center

Kern Medical Center is a 222-bed acute care teaching hospital that serves a community of approximately 650,000. The hospital is owned and operated by the County of Kern and is the only local hospital dedicated to physician resident training.

With knowledge and expertise from over 1,300 staff members, Kern Medical Center is an academic teaching hospital that trains more than 90 residents specializing in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN and Surgery. Affiliations with UCLA, UCSD, and UCI Schools of Medicine, give nearly 1,000 visiting doctors, researchers and other professionals an opportunity to assist our 65 full-time faculty physicians and take an active role in the teaching process.

AUC students are eligible to undertake all core rotations and the required Family Practice elective at Kern Medical Center.

Mount Vernon Hospital

The Mount Vernon Hospital (TMVH) is a voluntary, not-for-profit, 228-bed hospital located in Mount Vernon, New York, serving the City of Mount Vernon, the Pelhams, East Yonkers, New Rochelle and North Bronx. It is the largest private teaching hospital in Westchester County, Mount Vernon Hospital provides 326 acute, 50 rehabilitation and 100 extended care beds; 550 affiliated physicians; 637 nurses and allied health professionals and 783 support staff.

AUC students may take Internal Medicine as a core rotation.

Nassau Health Care Corporation

The Nassau Health Care Corporation (NHCC) plays a vital role in the delivery of health care in Nassau County. The Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale, and their community health centers provide critical health services to all residents of Nassau County, but particularly to those who are most in need.

Designated as a Level I Trauma Center – one of only four on Long Island – Nassau University Medical Center treats over half of all serious trauma in Nassau County in five separate emergency rooms: medical emergencies; surgical emergencies; pediatric emergencies; a separate Gynecology suite; and an Emergency Ambulatory Unit, along with a locked psychiatric emergency section. The 530-bed tertiary care teaching hospital is part of a 1,200-bed health care system, with a 589-bed A. Holly Patterson skilled nursing facility and six community health centers located throughout Nassau County. Annually, the safety net hospital treats over 75,000 people in its emergency rooms and another 270,000 people receive care in over 80 outpatient specialties. Some of its outstanding, highly specialized services include a self-contained Burn Center; the region’s largest Hyperbaric Chamber; Breast Imaging; an Eye Center; a Dentistry and Oral Surgery Center; an AIDS Center; a Cardiac Catherization Lab; a new MRI Facility; a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and an Orthopaedics Department specializing in minimally invasive surgery.

Founded in 1935, NUMC serves as a major teaching campus of the Health Science Center of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is affiliated with the North Shore LIJ Health System. With a staff of over 3,400, NHCC serves as a center for teaching and learning and encourages research and innovation, continually striving to improve patient care with 95% of its physicians board certified.

Providence Hospital and Medical Centers

Providence Hospital and Medical Centers (PHCM) is a member of the St. John Health System (SJHS), a growing network of Community-based health care services that provides comprehensive prevention, primary care and treatment programs. SJHS encompasses over 200,000 employees, with 3,200 physicians, 175 medical offices, and 10 hospitals in six counties. Providence Hospital, a 459-bed teaching hospital, located in Southfield, Michigan, has a medical staff of 948 physicians. In addition to the main hospital, the Providence network offers outpatient care at more than 20 primary and specialty care centers.

U.S. News & World Report ranks Providence among the Top 50 Hospitals in the U.S.A. for cancer care. Providence Hospital is one of only three metropolitan hospitals to be recognized for cancer care in the 2001 edition of “America’s Best Hospitals.” To produce that list, which includes the top 50 hospitals in each of 13 different specialties, U.S. News & World Report annually ranks more than 6,000 U.S. hospitals based on a number of criteria.

Graduate medical education is provided to 150 resident physicians in 14 specialty programs. The hospital is a major clinical education site for medical students from Wayne State University. AUC students may complete all 72 weeks of core rotations and electives at Providence Hospital.

 

Spring Grove Hospital Center

Spring Grove Hospital Center is a 330-bed complex that provides a broad spectrum of inpatient and residential psychiatric services to adults. The Center is owned and operated by the State of Maryland, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It is located in Catonsville, just outside of Baltimore.

Fully accredited and certified, Spring Grove has an ongoing commitment to providing psychiatric care and treatment of the highest quality. It was founded in 1797 and is now the second oldest continuously operating psychiatric hospital in the United States.

Spring Grove maintains a number of student teaching programs and serves as a popular training site for many professional schools, including the University of Maryland. Its commitment to its international medical student program is reflected in Cottage 5, where medical students are provided housing and study space on the Spring Grove grounds.

AUC students are eligible to undertake core clerkships in Psychiatry at Spring Grove Hospital Center.

St. Agnes Hospital

St. Agnes HealthCare is a full-service community teaching hospital with residency programs in a number of medical/surgical specialties. Established in 1906, the St. Agnes surgical residency program is the second oldest in the United States; the medical residency was founded shortly thereafter. Today, it is a comprehensive health system with physicians, hospital, outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center, Diagnostic Imaging Center, Cancer Center, ambulatory clinics and other provider relationships.

Key services at St. Agnes HealthCare include: The St. Agnes Cancer Center, The Chest Pain Emergency Center, Cardiovascular Services, Women’s Health Services, The Joint Connection, The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and Telemedicine and the St. Agnes Emergency Department, which includes Pediatric, Adult and Urgent Care Emergency Centers. St. Agnes also supports off-site facilities such as the Seton Imaging Center.

Residencies are based primarily at St. Agnes Hospital, with rotations at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the University of Maryland. Exceptional support services, such as nursing staff and IV teams, allow the resident physician to concentrate on the care of patients and other academic pursuits. The general surgery resident is exposed to all subspecialties, resulting in a broad-based surgical experience.

AUC students are eligible to undertake core rotations in the areas of Internal Medicine and Surgery, and also many elective specialties at St. Agnes Hospital.

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore is a 332-bed community teaching hospital serving Far Rockaway and the Five Towns, an area that is densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved. An 11-story facility, St. John’s is also connected via a covered overhead walkway to the 163-bed Bishop Charles Waldo MacLean Episcopal Nursing Home.

Accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, Inc. and the American Osteopathic Association, this voluntary hospital has one of the finest graduate medical education programs in the metropolitan area. Affiliated with the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, St. John’s is currently training interns and residents in a number of specialties.

St John Hospital & Medical Center

St. John Hospital and Medical Center is a 772-bed teaching hospital in Detroit, known for excellence in cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, women’s services, pediatrics, and medical education. St John was  named a Blue Distinction Center in both cardiovascular and orthopedic care by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network.

St. Mary’s Hospital

Founded in 1907, St. Mary’s has over 1,700 staff members and continues to expand its network of services.

AUC students are eligible to undertake a core rotation in surgery at St. Mary’s, which is affiliated with the surgical program at Griffin Hospital, 20 miles away. The St. Mary’s residency program is affiliated with the University of Connecticut at Yukon and Yale University School of Medicine in nearby New Haven and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.

Staten Island University Hospital

Staten Island University Hospital has a student education program for medical students, which parallels to our Internal Medicine residency. Our student program runs in conjunction with SUNY Downstate to which we accommodate approximately 250 students yearly through various rotations. Core rotations available for AUC students include Internal Medicine (12 weeks), General Surgery (12 Weeks), OB/GYN (6 Weeks), Pediatrics (6 Weeks), and Family Practice (6 Weeks). Elective rotations available include Anesthesiology, Pain Management, Emergency Medicine, Ambulatory Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/ Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pulmonary ICU Pathology, and Ambulatory Care.

Union Memorial Hospital

Union Memorial Hospital has been caring for members of the Baltimore community for nearly 150 years. Union Memorial Hospital offers a variety of ACGME accredited residency programs in internal medicine, general surgery, hand surgery, and orthopedics, and are affiliated with Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland, LCME accredited medical schools.

AUC students are eligible to undertake core clerkships and also many electives in Internal Medicine.
