Dr. Hayden practiced family medicine for five years prior to his emergency medicine residency. He career in emergency medicine extended over 26 years in a variety of settings: rural and urban hospitals, university medical centers, and single as well as large group practices, He has served as clinical adjunct faculty at Western Michigan’s Physician Assistant Program, Michigan State College of Human Medicine, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Saginaw, MI., and Assistant Professor in academic emergency medicine at the University of Tennessee, Regional Medical Center, Memphis. He received the Birch Award for Teaching Excellence at Western Michigan University’s Physician Assistant Program and Excellence in Teaching recognition at Michigan State’s Saginaw campus. He is a graduate of The University of Michigan Medical School, completed emergency medicine residency at Christ Medical Center, Chicago, and attained his doctorate in education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education, University of Memphis.
