Dr. Nathalie McDonell graduated with a B.Sc. in Genetics from the University of Nottingham, U.K., and an M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Sheffield, U.K. She obtained a Ph.D. in Human Genetics at the University of Paris, France, carried out post-doctoral research at Roche Vitamins Ltd. in Switzerland, and completed cancer research at the National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan. She was Assistant Professor of Genetics at the Medical University of the Americas in Belize, and during this time, also graduated with an M.D. from that institution. After completing clinical placements at Sligo General Hospital in Ireland, Dr. McDonell joined the AUC faculty in November 2007.
