Dr. Rhodes is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B., 1975), Weill Cornell Medical College (MD, 1982), and Rockefeller University (Ph.D., 1982). He is a retired Professor of Pathology and Neurology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth where he taught neuropathology to medical students for over 20 years.  His current academic affiliation is as a Senior Scientist [C] at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH; Bethesda, MD) where he is a neuropathologist and a molecular biologist with a special interest in genetic polymorphisms which affect human cognition. These polymorphisms include both genetic risk factors for diseases like Alzheimer’s disease or schizophrenia and traumatic brain injury.
