Before joining us at AUC, please make sure to check these items off your list.
Enrollment Reservation Fee
A non-refundable enrollment fee in the amount of U.S. $1,000 payable to American University of the Caribbean is due within the time specified on your acceptance packet to reserve your seat in the class. The Enrollment Reservation Fee confirms your acceptance of our offer of admission to AUC. Should the fee not be received by the time specified within your acceptance packet, you will be deemed to have rejected our offer. On matriculation, the enrollment fee will be applied toward your first semester tuition. A receipt for your enrollment fee will be sent to you once payment is received. Please also return the Admitted Student Reply and the Student Family Information forms by the due date.
For your convenience, the Enrollment Reservation Fee can be paid securely online via Sallie Mae. Tuition and fees can be paid online by e-check. All other fees, except tuition, can be paid by credit card and processed securely by Higher One.
Incoming students are eligible to apply to live in AUC’s on-campus housing. Rooms are reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are interested in reserving on-campus housing, please complete the Housing Request form. AUC students have the opportunity to live on and off-campus. AUC's Department of Housing maintains a database of off-campus housing options from which you can search based on criteria such as housing distance, amenities, and price levels. Additionally, the Roommate Finder feature provides you with the ability to search for potential roommates among your fellow students. Health Clearance Certificate
Your primary care physician must complete, sign date the Student Health Clearance Certificate form [PDF]. You must obtain all required medical tests or immunizations. Once it is complete, be sure to sign and date the form yourself and return it to AUC within the time specified on your acceptance packet.
The government of St. Maarten requires all students to have a local health insurance coverage while on the island. AUC has arranged for a student health insurance policy through NAGICO [PDF]. Students have the opportunity to enroll dependents with the insurance company during registration. Clinical students are required to have health insurance, provided through AETNA, in order to rotate. These requirements are strictly enforced by AUC. Please contact AUC for further information at 305-446-0600.
Temporary Residency Permit Documents
To live on the island of St. Maarten, you will need a Temporary Residency Permit. Students will receive Temporary Residency Permit documents at orientation.
