Zacheriah Benton was nominated for the Alumni Heritage Scholarship by Alison MacMillan, an AUC graduate and clinical research fellow. Growing up, Mr. Benton frequently shadowed his mother during her rounds as a nurse. This inspired him to become a medical volunteer and to join her at AUC, where she is currently a medical sciences student. “Zach has displayed a commitment to academic excellence, volunteerism, and an interest in medicine and scientific research. These attributes will serve him well at AUC and throughout his medical career,” said Dr. MacMillan.
Teresa Horst was nominated for the Alumni Heritage Scholarship by James A. Yost, M.D., an AUC graduate and chief executive officer and managing partner of Physician’s Immediate Med, one of the largest family medicine and urgent care practices in Georgia. Dr. Yost believes Ms. Horst’s experience as a medical assistant at his clinic, prepares her for the challenges of medical school. “Teresa has demonstrated an excellent work ethic, and promoted a team-based approach to patient care and I have no doubt she will thrive during her time at AUC,” said Dr. Yost.
