Beyond Basic Sciences

General Information

Beyond Basic Sciences (BBS) is an alumni lecture series program designed to provide clinical, residency, research and other important medical information to AUC students. BBS gives graduates the opportunity to reconnect with current AUC students and faculty and to share real-life experiences about what they face during residency and beyond. Alumni can choose their topic and spend an hour interacting with students. Alumni may also choose the format, be it a question/answer session or a slide slow presentation with discussion. Recent sessions have included the “Anatomy of Trauma” and a special session for Canadian students to prepare for residency and beyond in Canada.

Eligibility

BBS speakers must currently be training or already completed a residency program. At this time the lecture series is only available to alumni who are traveling to St. Maarten for vacation or business and who would like to share their clinical or residency experience with the students.
