American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) takes pride in producing physicians who successfully attain residencies in a variety of specialties such as child neurology, general surgery, pediatrics, radiology, and emergency medicine. Many also contribute to closing the gap on the nation’s primary care physician shortage by dedicating themselves to fields such as internal and family medicine.

Here are highlights from news publications across the United States showcasing the accomplishments of recent graduates and alumni making valuable contributions to the medical field.

  • Recent AUC graduates Heather Brody, MD and Tenzing Phanthok, MD are among the 10 internal medicine residents who make up the first class of the first medical residency program in northeast Georgia, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

  • Rutgers New Jersey Medical School presented AUC alum Dennis Grech, MD with the Faculty of the Year Award in recognition of his “extraordinary service” to the medical school and University Hospital. Dr. Grech is currently assistant professor of anesthesiology and section chief and director of ambulatory anesthesia.

  • James "J.J." Tucker, MD joins Surgery Specialists of Hot Springs. Dr. Tucker completed his surgical residency at York Hospital in Pennsylvania. He performed his minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Our Lady of the Lake, LSU, in Baton Rouge.

  • Henry Kim, MD, recently graduated from the family medicine residency program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. Dr. Kim will go onto provide urgent care in his hometown community of Flushing, Queens.
