2012 Graduation Ceremony

Preparing to Graduate

The 2012 AUC Commencement will be held on Saturday May 26, 2012 in the Maho Room at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort in St. Maarten. All graduates participating in this year’s ceremony must also attend a mandatory pre-ceremony meeting, held in the evening on Friday, May 25, 2012 in the Maho Room. Gowns, tams, tassels and ceremony tickets will be distributed during the pre-ceremony meeting. Due to the growing size of our graduating classes the ceremony will be split into two sessions, morning and afternoon. You will be assigned to a session following the RSVP deadline, set for February 15, 2012.

Ceremony RSVP Details

RSVP Deadline for the 2012 AUC Commencement: February 15, 2012

All graduates who will be participating in the ceremony must RSVP online using the link below. You will be asked to provide gender, height and weight so we can provide you with an appropriate gown. Following the ceremony, the gown, tam, tassel and hood are yours to keep. There is a limit of 5 guests per graduate (due to the Maho room maximum capacity). An AUC Model Release Form (found below) should be submitted along with the RSVP.

AUC Model Release Form: Submit with RSVP

All graduates must submit a signed AUC Model Release Form in order to participate in group photos at the graduation ceremony. This release allows AUC to use images taken at graduation for distribution of the group pictures, as well as any future marketing of the ceremony. The form can be submitted by email to gradceremony@aucmed.edu, by fax (786-228-3004) or by mail to AUC Coral Gables Attn: Graduation 2012, 901 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Suite 700, Coral Gables, FL 33134.

Hotel Reservation Information

Sonesta Maho Beach Resort

The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino is offering AUC graduates and their families a special group rate. Reservations must be made by May 15, 2012 to take advantage of these group rates.

Single/Double Occupancy Standard Room -- $120 USD/night
Single/Double Occupancy Ocean View Room -- $145 USD/night

All rates are subject to a 21% tax and service charge. Additional guests over the age of 12 may stay for a $35 USD charge per person, provided additional beds are not required. Additional guests 12 and under are free. Rates are valid 3 days before and after the graduation ceremony date of May 26, 2012. Additional information can be found click here.

Pelican Resort Club

Pelican Resort Club, located at Simpson Bay, is offering AUC graduates and their families a special group rate for their stay. Reservations must be made by February 29, 2012 to take advantage of group rates.

One Bedroom Suite (sleeps 4) -- $150 USD
Two Bedroom Villa (sleeps 6) -- $195 USD
