Financial Aid

American University of the Caribbean is approved for participation in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). Financial aid is awarded on the basis of "need," which is determAmerican University of the Caribbean is approved for participation in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Programs (Direct Loans).  Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required .  Graduate/professional level students are considered independent by federal regulations for Direct Loans, therefore it is not necessary to supply parental information. Qualified citizens and permanent residents of the United States may  be eligible to receive funding from the Federal Direct Loan programs to fully cover the cost of attendance (tuition, books & supplies, accommodation and travel). Canadian students should consult with their province regarding financial aid resources available to them. Recipients of federal loans must go through exit counseling prior to graduation, separation or less than half-time attendance. To access the exit counseling session, please click here. Loans will be summarized and terms of repayment, deferment, and responsibility will be reviewed. Student borrowers are awarded loan funds to pay for their education on the basis of a promise to repay after leaving school. Failure to do so can result in adverse consequences.

Scholarships

The AUC Merit Scholarship is a one-time, partial tuition credit offered to a limited number of incoming first-semester basic science students. The scholarship is awarded to qualified first semester Basic Medical Sciences students. To be considered for the Merit Scholarship, an incoming student must have demonstrated outstanding undergraduate academic achievement. Recipients will be notified prior to matriculation and must accept the award within fourteen days after the scholarship is offered.
