2.) Library and Clinical Resource Partner Updates

If you haven’t visited AUC's new Library Portal, you’re missing out! We’ve made major improvements to our library offerings, many of which benefit clinical students. In addition to having your key clinical and academic resources in one place, the library now provides instant access to journals, journal articles, and databases. Gone are the old days of email requests and PDF documents! Simply use the EBSCO search window to query specific topics, journals, and/or publishers. The library also features a "Clinical Resources" tab in the top navigation of the portal where you can access BMJ Case Report, Med-U, USMLE-Easy, Access Medicine, UptoDate, and more.

Speaking of, our resource partners constantly offer new information, study tools, and activities. We’ve highlighted a few of those updates below but check the library portal for all of the latest and greatest information.

  • UptoDate: This clinical decision support resource regularly publishes podcasts and videos about practice-changing updates. To subscribe, visit their podcast channel on iTunes. Recent episodes cover long-term follow up of imatinib for CML, transcatheter aortic valve implantation, spirometry and asthma diagnosis, and scalp cooling and alopecia from chemotherapy.
  • Access Medicine: Access Medicine's Case Files Collection helps students learn and apply basic science and clinical medicine concepts to realistic patient cases. The site regularly posts a featured case and provides a detailed review of how to approach that case and what questions to consider while making a diagnosis.
