Join AUC students and children from the ICAN Foundation for a fun-filled day of free food, arts and crafts and games, including a dodgeball tournament.
The festivities take place Sunday, July 18 from noon until 4p.m., at the basketball court and parking lot at AUC.
The event is being organized by members of Phi Chi – AUC’s community service fraternity and the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA).
Attendees are being asked for a minimum donation of $5. Proceeds will be donated to the ICAN Foundation, a local home/foundation for orphaned children on the island. ICAN offers living accommodation to children between the ages of 0 to 13 years, who have been victims of neglect, abuse or other social issues. The children get round the clock care and through treatment programs, guidance and other activities to prepare them for the future.
“This event is going to be a great way for the students and AUC community to interact with the children from ICAN foundation and not only provide them with monetary support, but also a day full of fun-filled activities that they will remember for a long time,” said Alexandra Monde, co-chair of Phi Chi Community Service.
Free food and drinks will be provided by several local restaurants including Papa Dan’s pizzeria, Rare, Temptations, BB’s, Kush, Savanna Thai, The Coffee Shop, and Tantra with music. The Student Government Association has also donated utensils, plates, and cups for the event.
