Hear What They Have To Say

AUC faculty believe in what they do, in the students they educate and in the medical school where they have chosen to teach. Here are some insights about American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine from our renowned faculty:

On Teaching…

“One of the unique things about AUC, especially compared to American medical schools, is that the faculty have teaching as their number one focus. Our students start becoming physicians on their first day of medical school. The faculty at AUC are dedicated to making the basic science material relevant and to preparing our students to pass the USLME Step-1 exam.”
Eugene C. Grochowski, Ph.D., M.D., F.A.C.P., Northwestern University
Professor of Medical Ethics and Clinical Medicine

On Students…

"We are proud to boast of many U.S. students carrying excellent academic credentials, which often exceed those of the average U.S. medical student. Flying high with the panache of intelligence and determination, their pursuit of medical studies at this campus is fervent and admirable."
Jae Y. Choe, Ph.D., University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill
Professor of Pharmacology

On Quality…

“AUC faculty are distinguished in both research and teaching. Students learn each discipline in depth—with a point-of-view that learning medicine is about critical thinking and problem solving rather than memorizing concepts. The superior mental caliber of our faculty combined with AUC’s technology and laboratory resources give our students every opportunity to explore medicine and excel in their clinical appointments.”
Hiroko Yoshida, Ph.D., New York University
Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology
Associate Dean of Academic Affairs
Acting Dean of Basic Medical Sciences

On the Future…

“One of the largest needs to be fulfilled in the near future is training more physicians to treat our aging population. There is very likely to be a shortage of physicians in the upcoming decades to serve this rapidly increasing population of patients. American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine has an excellent model and reputation for accomplishing this.”
Thackery Gray, Ph.D., Ohio State University
Professor of Anatomy
Associate Dean of Medical Education
