The library at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine is technologically advanced, with Wi-Fi Internet and access to useful medical education databases. The library is also a comfortable and intimate space that is popular among study groups and individual students. There are three private group study rooms available on a first come first serve basis.
Students can access library resources from anywhere that they have Internet access. Housed in the library is a collection of more than 5,000 items, including 47 medical journals in electronic format through the E-Journal center, faculty recommended software programs, print and photocopy services, and 56 computer work stations with DVD players. Popular fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, and DVDs are also available.

Interlibrary Loan Services is a library-to-library transaction which gives students access to articles from other medical libraries through the National Library of Medicine’s Docline program.
PubMed comprises more than 23 million citations from MEDLINE®, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites.
UpToDate is the premier evidence-based clinical decision support resource, trusted worldwide by healthcare practitioners to help them make the right decisions at the point of care.
Through Ovid, students gain access to more than 364 eBooks and limited access to an additional 13 journals, and Ovid’s Evidence Based Medicine Database, including Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, ACP Journal Club, Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Cochrane Methodology Register, Heath Technology Assessment and the NHS Economic Evaluation Database.
AccessMedicine provides medical students with a variety of resources needed to excel in basic science studies and clerkships. It is a comprehensive online medical resource that provides a complete spectrum of knowledge from the best minds in medicine, with essential information accessible anywhere. Included are 77 full text books – including Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, 6 Quick Reference Resources, Multimedia Videos, Cases and much more.
Academic Search™ Complete
Academic Search Complete offers a collection of the most valuable full-text journals, providing users access to critical information from many sources unique to this database.
