Mission 

The Office of the Registrar is committed to providing quality services to students, alumni, faculty, and colleagues in support of the mission of American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine.  In fulfillment of this, the Office of the Registrar performs these actions by serving as the steward for academic records, fostering student academic progression, and facilitating academic processes for administrative needs. The Office of the Registrar is an integral part of AUC’s administration, as such; we seek consistency and equity by supporting, developing, and implementing the policies and procedures of the University.

Vision

The Office of the Registrar will proactively research and utilize technology that better serves our students, alumni, faculty, and colleagues. The Office of the Registrar will support data driven decision making and student focused outcomes. The Office of the Registrar will empower students to navigate through policies and procedures both through the website and in print.  Finally, the Office of the Registrar will collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency in communication to both internal and external stakeholders.

Services to Students

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency regarding student information, registration, rotation evaluations and grades
  • Manage database to create reports for administration and faculty
  • Serve as a principal source of information on academic and procedural matters to students
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records
  • Maintain student database and grades
  • Track academic progress
  • Track student status and verify enrollment
  • Compile Dean’s List on a semester basis
  • Facilitate Orientation and Registration
  • Update and maintain course catalog/student handbook
  • NBME® Shelf and Comprehensive Exams
  • Transcript Services
  • Graduation Clearance/Verification

Meet the Registrar Team

 

Rodney Bowen, Manager of Registrar Services

With more than nine years' experience working in higher education, I have found fulfillment in the opportunities I have been given to serve others. I joined AUC in 2014 as a Registrar Systems Specialist and now serve as the Manager of Registrar Services. I earned my bachelor’s degree in communications from Carthage College and master’s in education from American InterContinental University. As a native of Chicago, I have been engrained with a passion for great food and rich sports traditions. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, recreating old family recipes, diving into a good book and fishing.
 

Brianna Lopez, Associate Registrar

I joined AUC in 2010 and have been fortunate to work in multiple positions over the last 6 years. My role as a Hospital Relations Coordinator really honed my passion for helping students here at AUC. In 2016 I stepped into the role of Associate Registrar. It makes me happy to be able to play a part in helping students achieve their ultimate goal, which is to become outstanding physicians.  In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, exercising, and spending time with my family.

I joined AUC in 2012 as a Clinical Education Advisor for the Office of Clinical Student Affairs and now work in the Office of the Registrar. I have been serving students in higher education for over 8 years and find a deep sense of fulfillment in doing so. AUC has a rich culture of care and I try to embody those principles daily as I help our student body reach their professional goals. I really enjoy how supportive my colleagues are and learning from their individual success in working with our students. Apart from work, I love spending time with friends and family, salsa dancing and cooking Cuban food. 

Bryan Diaz, Assistant Registrar

I started working with AUC in 2014 and now serve in the role of Assistant Registrar. After working closely with my colleagues and our students I knew AUC was the place for me. The AUC culture and willingness from my colleagues to assist students in achieving their goals inspires me every day. In my spare time, I enjoy making Cuban coffee and spending time with my friends and family.
