The Student Government Association and the Scholarly Activity & Research Committee (SARC) were proud to host the Fall 2025 Student Research Symposium on November 29th, 2025, at the beautiful AUC campus on Sint Maarten. The symposium featured nineteen student presentations on clinical cases, biomedical sciences, social sciences, and advances in medical technology. The semi-annual event celebrates the incredible research work and achievements of AUC students.
Altogether, one hundred talented students had the opportunity to share their insights and findings, contributing to a truly enriching experience for everyone involved. We would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to the following groups, who stood out for their outstanding performances and were recognized for their excellence:
First place in the research presentation category was the “Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome: A Narrative Review and Legal Implication.” Second and third place were awarded to the research presentations “Using Virtual Reality to Optimize Regional Anesthesia Outcomes” and “The Proteomic Signature of Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer” respectively.
The winner in the case report category was “Pediatric Presentation of Recurrent Hematuria.” In second and third places were “From Darkness to Light: A Case Study Discussing Vision Recovery Following Surgical Management of Necrotic Rhinosinusitis” and “Pediatric Transient Synovitis” respectively.
In recognition of the winners’ hard work and dedication, each winning group received a certificate for outstanding achievements, along with a $25 Visa gift card — a small token of appreciation for their contributions. Furthermore, each student who participated received a personalized certificate celebrating their individual efforts and achievements, underscoring the value of their commitment to advancing knowledge and research in our community.
