Creation of Councils
- The Sint Maarten campus, UK Track program, and clinical sciences program were previously represented by three siloed SGA entities. To bolster collaboration across these student groups, these entities have been restructured into Class Councils—the Sint Maarten Medical Sciences Council, United Kingdom Medical Sciences Council, and Clinical Sciences Council—that will be connected across curricular programs, through new committees, and a new Executive Council.
- The Executive Council will serve as a representative at AUC’s executive leadership level, where they may advocate for or escalate issues from respective Class Councils. The Executive Council will also serve to drive student engagement across the four years.
Creation of Committees
- Five committees have been created with the goal of developing four-year initiatives and events with opportunities for both medical sciences and clinical sciences students to participate.
- Volunteering: Works with the AUC Department of Community Engagement to organize Community Action Day as a university-wide activity and works with hospital site representatives in clinicals to create student volunteer opportunities
- Student Affairs: Coordinates mentorship programs and promotes activities for both medical and clinical sciences students
- Research & Publications: Coordinates AUC Research Symposia and works with Academic Affairs to facilitate research opportunities for students
- Curriculum Development: Attends monthly curriculum committee meetings and delivers reports to respective Councils
- Wellness: Leads THRIVE Week planning with the THRIVE committee
- Volunteering: Works with the AUC Department of Community Engagement to organize Community Action Day as a university-wide activity and works with hospital site representatives in clinicals to create student volunteer opportunities
