Last Call for Abstracts: International Conference on Disaster Medicine and Hurricane Resiliency
Physicians are increasingly called on to lead and serve in large scale emergencies like natural disasters, shootings, and disease outbreaks. To help healthcare professionals prepare for and manage these mass casualty events, AUC is hosting the 2020 International Conference on Disaster Medicine and Hurricane Resiliency—a four-day CME conference on March 26-29, 2020 at our Sint Maarten campus. Professionals and experts from around the world will travel to AUC to share their insights and expertise in disaster medicine and emergency response.
The conference is organized by the Caribbean Center for Disaster Medicine (CCDM), a center of excellence created by AUC in cooperation with Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to foster collaboration among professionals responsible for healthcare delivery, disaster preparedness, emergency response, and medical education. The inaugural conference took place last year with more than 280 attendees from 12 countries.
Don’t miss this opportunity to visit the Caribbean and gain important skills to manage large scale crisis as a healthcare leader. You can also submit an abstract for presentations, posters, and workshops related to this year’s conference themes: hurricane resiliency, mass casualty events, infectious disease, disaster-related education and curriculum, and training for healthcare workers and first responders. The deadline is October 1 so write to us quickly with your intent to submit!
