Mohamed Aziz, MD, FCAP
Dr. Mohamed Aziz is a senior surgical pathologist and tumor diagnosis consultant, and an actively licensed physician in the state of New York. He is American Board certified in both surgical pathology and cytopathology with additional subspecialty expertise in breast and sarcoma pathology. Dr. Aziz completed a residency in combined surgical/clinical pathology at St. Vincent's Medical Center of New York Medical College in New York City. In addition, he completed fellowships in bone/soft tissue pathology and cytopathology at New York University's Hospital for Joint Diseases and Albert Einstein School of Medicine respectively.
Dr. Aziz has authored book chapters in medical textbooks, published multiple articles in medical journals. He has presented his work at numerous national and international meetings as well as multiple media interviews. He is currently a senior editor to prominent pathology journals in the field of cancer. His a cancer expert with main areas of interest including all aspects of cytopathology, especially fine needle aspiration, breast, and bone/soft tissue pathology--and most of all, teaching medical students and guiding future generations of physicians.
Dr. Aziz taught pathology and other medical disciplines at New York Medical College and Hofstra University in New York for decades. Prior to joining AUC, he served as senior director of the division of cytopathology at Northwell Health System in long island and New York City. Earlier, he served as chief of pathology at Saint Vincent’s Cancer Center in Manhattan, and as the vice president of Omegapath Diagnostics Corporation, Utica, New York. For a brief period, Dr. Aziz was the doctor of the world famous Expedition Cruise “Lindblad Explorer.”
