Dr. Brian Patson received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania and Doctor of Medicine from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, also in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Dr. Patson was an attending physician in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute in Allentown, Pennsylvania, specializing in the treatment of thoracic and head and neck malignancies. He maintains board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Patson researched mTOR pathways in diabetic and obesity models at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey Pennsylvania in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology. During his time at Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute, he was the program director for the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship program overseeing all aspects of training and graduate medical education. Dr. Patson served as principal investigator for several industry sponsored clinical trials including targeted agents and immunotherapy. He has additional interests in Internal Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Care, and LGBTQ+ health.
Dr. Patson is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medical Sciences, Co-Director of the Molecules to Medicine module, and teaches clinical medicine throughout all semesters of the curriculum.
