Dr. Scott Rinker is Campus Dean of Student Affairs, providing leadership over resources for students from first foot on campus until transition into clinicals. He is responsible for numerous campus and student experience programs and committees, including MSAS (medical sciences academic support board), recreational sports, student government, student judicial council, student conduct and professionalism, CARE, new student orientation, White Coat ceremony, and various student clubs and organizations.
Prior to working at AUC, Dr. Rinker worked at Houston Community College, a comprehensive community college that serves over 70,000 students across 23 campuses with a service area of 631.3 square miles. He worked as the system-wide student affairs officer, leading and managing disability support services, student conduct reporting and compliance, Title IX processes, and international student advising.
Dr. Rinker is interested in the academic and personal success of students at AUC as well as promoting organizational change that makes those aspirations a reality. He is the father of two beautiful children and husband to a lovely mother, researcher, and public health educator. He holds a BS from Texas A&M University, an MA from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and a PhD from Texas A&M University.
