Giovanni Firpo, MBChB is an Assistant Professor and Medical Demonstrator at AUC School of Medicine's UK Track program. Dr. Firpo is on faculty at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston UK, where the program is delivered.
Dr. Firpo earned his master’s degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Pavia in Italy. He was actively involved as a tutor for medical students throughout his training, conducting skill laboratories for groups of students as well as offering individual tutoring. After completing his degree, Dr. Firpo practiced at hospitals in Pavia and Milan, Italy. Most recently, he was a Trust Grade CT1 Level Physician with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in North Yorkshire, UK.
Dr. Firpo has a broad range of experience in emergency medicine, clinical research, and internal medicine, including a focus on the stroke unit and acute admission unit at James Cook University Hospital in Middlebrough, UK. Dr. Firpo is interested in global health and has trained in Ghana, Portugal, and Guinea-Bissau, in addition to his work throughout Italy and the UK. He is a member of the Professional Register of Physicians and Surgeons of Pavia.
