Hazarie Ramoutar joined the AUC team in May 2017 as the Senior Administrator for Campus Operations at the Sint Maarten campus. He is a member of AUC’s Executive Leadership Council and the Sint Maarten Campus Leadership Team. He is passionate about building on AUC’s tradition of delivering an outstanding student experience and success. Mr. Ramoutar oversees the campus functions of Government Relations, Finance, Safety and Security, Facilities, Housing, Campus Services, and Food Services. He is also the Regional Incident Commander, leading the Incident Command Team for the AUC Sint Maarten campus as well as other Adtalem locations in the Caribbean.
Mr. Ramoutar has been no stranger to crisis and has been actively involved in a wide range of incidents involving students, faculty, and staff over the last 11 years. His most recent involvement was in leading the campus response and recovery to Hurricane Irma in 2017 where over 700 people sheltered at AUC and had to be evacuated after the catastrophic damage done to the island of Sint Maarten.
Mr. Ramoutar has been with Adtalem Global Education (ATGE) since 2008 when he joined Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) as the Campus Administrator, and then later on as the Director of the Student Experience.
Mr. Ramoutar has over 25 years’ experience in accounting and operations having lived and worked in his home country of Trinidad and Tobago as well as St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia and now Sint Maarten. He received his BSc degree in management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Trinidad, an MBA from the University of Bradford, and he is also a Fellow of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
