Dr. Karyn Patno, MD

After working for 10 years as an itinerant clinical instructor, Dr. Karyn Patno joins the full-time team in the clinical medicine department of AUC. Dr. Patno received a BS from the University of Notre Dame and then her MD at the Medical College of Ohio. She completed a paediatric residency in Burlington, Vermont before heading to Alaska where she served in the Indian Health Service for 6 years. Dr. Patno then returned to Vermont where she worked as a general paediatrician before specializing in Child Abuse Paediatrics. Dr. Patno’s decision to join the full time faculty at AUC stems from her love of teaching and especially the enthusiasm of the students she has worked with at AUC. She returns to the island accompanied by her husband, Martin Holladay.
