For each year, the rate is the percent of students attaining a residency out of all graduates or expected graduates in the year who were active applicants in the NRMP match in that year or who attained a residency outside the NRMP match in that year. For 2025-26, the first-time residency attainment rate is over 98%.

Sahar A. Samaha, MD, MSc
Dr. Sahar A. Samaha, M.D. is a board-certified pathologist with more than three decades of experience in academic, commercial, and private healthcare settings. She earned her medical degree from Ain Shams University and a Master’s in Ophthalmology from Cairo University before completing residency and fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Samaha specializes in gastrointestinal pathology and digital diagnostics, bringing a unique perspective to the evolving landscape of precision medicine. Her work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals and international forums, covering topics such as HER2 scoring reproducibility, rare gastrointestinal tumors, and anal neoplasia. She is an active member of numerous professional societies and has served in leadership roles, including directing laboratories at Inform Diagnostics and mentoring medical students and residents both in the United States and abroad.
Passionate about advancing diagnostic medicine, Dr. Samaha combines deep clinical expertise with a commitment to education and innovation. When not in the lab or lecture hall, she enjoys traveling, culinary exploration, and staying active through pickleball and fitness.
