
Sharikka Finley-Moise, MSW, LICSW
Sharikka Finley-Moise, LICSW is a wellness counselor for the wellness counseling center at AUC. She provides individual counseling sessions to students, triaging acute students, and outreach regarding all dimensions of the wellness wheel in person and virtually through the AUC Wellness Counseling social media page. She also assists in creating and facilitating presentations to students staff and faculty regarding crisis intervention, maintaining wellness and other relevant topics such as stress management and depression. Sharikka is a licensed independent clinical social worker and has worked with a variety of populations in her career. Her practice with clients has ranged from school social work with middle schoolers, crisis work with homeless youth between 14-24 years old in Boston, and assisting men and women reintegrating into the community after years of incarceration. She has helped individuals dealing with both mental health and medical health concerns, and people struggling with substance use or their recovery process.
She has worked in various types of organizations, which include schools, multi-service centers, non-profit organizations, substance abuse programs and most recently Boston Children’s Hospital in the Adolescent and Young Adult department. Sharikka Finley-Moise graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, and Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in health and mental health from Boston College. She has been trained in many treatment modalities which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Outside of her profession, she loves music, sports, speaking and learning other languages (French and Spanish) and enjoying the beach.
