UK-Track Medical Degree Program

AUC’s UK-Track medical degree program provides a new opportunity for non-US citizen students to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree through study in the United Kingdom

American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) has partnered with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to offer two distinct points of entry to enable non-US citizen students to earn an AUC medical degree, with at least part of their education in the United Kingdom (UK):

1. Graduate entry for non-US citizen students with a Bachelor's degree

This degree track is open to qualified non-US citizen students holding a Bachelor’s degree who seek a rigorous medical education program designed to help them master the basic medical sciences and develop the necessary clinical skills to practice medicine. Students with a Bachelor's degree will complete AUC’s standard medical sciences curriculum through the delivery of a Post Graduate Diploma in International Medical Sciences from UCLan, which AUC and its accreditor recognize as equivalent to the AUC medical sciences curriculum. Students then proceed to United States Medical Licensing Examination®  (USMLE) Step 1 and the clinical sciences portion of the program. This degree track can be completed in four years.

2. Undergraduate entry for non-US citizen students without a Bachelor's degree

This degree track is open to qualified students who do not yet hold a Bachelor’s degree who seek an accelerated pathway to completing their medical education. Students in this track complete UCLan’s two-year Bachelor’s in Medical Sciences (Hons) degree program, which has been recognized by AUC and its accreditor as granting equivalent credit for the first two semesters of AUC's standard five-semester medical sciences curriculum. Students who successfully complete the BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences degree at 2.1 or above will then complete AUC's medical sciences curriculum, starting in third semester. After completing the medical sciences curriculum, students then proceed to USMLE Step 1 and the clinical sciences portion of the program. Students in this track can earn their medical degree in five and a half years.
