MBBS TO MD DEGREE
American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) offers the opportunity for eligible students with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Degree from an institution recognized by India’s National Medical Commission to apply for transfer admission with advanced standing to the Medical Doctor (MD) Degree Program. Students accepted for transfer admission with advanced standing must complete at least two years of medical education at AUC.
The Admissions Committee takes into consideration as much information as possible that delineates an applicant’s total qualifications for admissions to the program, as well as the level of advanced standing. Placements will not be made later than semester 5, in the medical sciences portion of the curriculum.

1First time residency attainment rate is the percent of students attaining a 2022-23 residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2021-22 who were active applicants in the 2022 NRMP match or who attained a residency position outside the NRMP match.
2First-time pass rate is the number of students passing the USMLE Step 1 exam on the first attempt divided by the number of students whose first attempt was in 2017-2021. In order to sit for the USMLE Step 1 exam students must successfully complete the Medical Sciences curriculum.
3First-time pass rate is the number of students passing the USMLE Step 2 CK exam on the first attempt divided by the number of students whose first attempt was in 2017-21. In order to sit for the exam students must earn an acceptable score on the NBME CCSE as listed in the catalog.
SINT MAARTEN & THE U.K.
AUC’s global footprint allows eligible students* to begin study for the Medical Doctor (MD) Degree on our campus in Sint Maarten, or at our program site in the United Kingdom via our partnership with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston, U.K.
*The U.K. track option is only available to eligible Non-U.S. Citizens.

AUC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE'S INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP*
MEDICAL SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
Students may qualify for AUC’s $80,000 USD International Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to qualified applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of a country outside the United States or Canada. Applicants must hold an offer of admission to AUC for the scholarship to be awarded. The AUC
Scholarship Committee reviews and awards scholarships every week.
* For those who apply and qualify. Students who hold dual U.S.-Canadian citizenship are not eligible for this scholarship. This is a one-time award distributed across semesters 1-10.
To be considered for transfer admission with an MBBS advanced standing, students must meet the following requirements.
Complete the AUC online application for the Graduate Entry Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree program.
Submit official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate and medical colleges attended
Provide two official letters of recommendation
An up-to-date CV, in chronological order
United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) Scores (where applicable)
Medical School Admissions Test: NEET-PG, MCAT, UCAT or GAMSAT (required for applicants who have not yet passed USMLE® Step 1)
Personal Statement of no longer than 750 words
All MBBS students will be interviewed, before being sent to the admissions committee for review.
Required for applicants who earned their MBBS Degree more than 2 years ago.
