Ijoma Nwosu, MBBS

Dr. Nwosu obtained an M.B.B.S. from the University of Ilorin (Nigeria) in 1983. He completed a surgery fellowship at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1994, and an M.Sc. in Hyperbaric medicine from the University of Sint Eustatius Medical School in 2006. He also runs a Ph.D. program in health management for the Columbia Commonwealth University in Montana.

After 14 years of surgical/medical practice in various cities in Nigeria, Dr. Nwosu joined Sint Eustatius Medical School, in the Netherlands Antilles, as an instructor in January 2000. During that time he taught introductory surgery, introductory histology, medical language, physical examination, anatomy and embryology.

Dr. Nwosu is co-author of “Understanding Human Osteology”.

He is also a strong believer in small-group teaching, with anatomy lab as the platform, and that students are best mentored on a person-to-person basis with faculty as role models.

Dr. Nwosu joined AUC in March 2008.
