UCLan Campus & Map

Learn about UCLan and discover the many facilities available to AUC students

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is the 19th largest university in the United Kingdom, with a student and staff community approaching 38,000 and more than 400 undergraduate and 200 graduate programs of study. In 2010, the UCLan became the first UK modern higher education institution to appear in the QS World University Rankings. And in 2016, the Centre for World University Rankings estimated Central Lancashire to be in the top 3.7 percent of all worldwide universities, reflecting the institution’s broad pool of academic talent.

One of UCLan’s newest additions is the university's School of Medicine, which offers the UK-based medical degree—the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Established in 2015, the MBBS program joins several other UCLan program offerings in the healthcare sector, including nursing, dentistry and physiotherapy.

AUC students at UCLan have the opportunity to experience the university’s hands-on tools, facilities and resources, including:

  • A modern library with a large selection of study spaces, 700 computers, a dedicated library staff, and a large collection of medical textbooks and catalogues. The library is open 24/7 during UCLan's term-time.
  • Human Anatomy Resource and Learning Centres (HARLCs) – a focal point for students to learn about the workings of the human body
  • State-of-the-art anatomy technology, including two anatomage virtual dissection tables. Students can use their hands to cut through 3D gross models to reveal organs and muscles, and learn about regional anatomy.
  • Five high-specification clinical skills laboratories, which include a number of life-size human simulators of all ages. Labs are equipped with the latest video technology to record and allow students to review each simulated scenario. Additional space includes simulated primary care settings, such as a GP surgery and patient’s home setting.

AUC Offices

AUC has office space in Eden Hall, which is located across from the Security Lodge. Students can visit Eden Hall Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm to speak with a university representative. Student Affairs representatives and arriving faculty will also have office space in Eden Hall.
