Undergraduate BSc to MD Pathway Degree
Designed for Students Pursuing Their First Degree
For qualified students who have not yet earned a Bachelor’s degree, this accelerated pathway offers a chance to earn your MD in about six years. Through partnerships with the University of Lancashire and the University of Wolverhampton, students complete a two-year BSc at University of Wolverhampton in Birmingham. AUC recognizes completion with honors of Wolverhampton’s BSc as equivalent credit for semester 1 of AUC’s standard medical sciences curriculum.
Undergraduate BSc to MD Pathway Details
Wolverhampton Partnership Pathway
Advanced coursework in the Wolverhampton accelerated BSc curriculum fulfills requirements from AUC medical sciences Semesters 1. Students who successfully complete the Wolverhampton BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences degree at 2.1 or above will then progress to the second semester of AUC's medical sciences curriculum through the delivery of a post graduate diploma in International Medical Sciences from University of Lancashire. Students in this track can complete their full medical degree pathway in five and a half years.
Lancashire Partnership Pathway
Students who fulfill advanced coursework requirements by completing University of Lancashire's two-year BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences with at least a 2.1 can proceed to complete AUC's medical sciences curriculum (Semesters 2-5) through the delivery of a post graduate diploma in International Medical Sciences from University of Lancashire.
Students from both pathways must take and pass USMLE Step 1 to proceed to the clinical sciences portion of the program. Students complete clinical clerkship rotations in the wide network of AUC-affiliated teaching hospitals.

Study in Preston, U.K. with the U.K. Track (for years 1 and 2)
Non-U.S. based citizens can choose either the Sint Maarten campus or U.K. program site in Preston to study for years 1 and 2. They can then complete their clerkships at AUC affiliate hospitals in either the U.S. or U.K.

Admissions Requirements
Our MD program is open to qualified candidates who have completed undergraduate requirements for medical school. They must possess a first degree, minimum Bachelor’s or equivalent, in any discipline (science-focused study preferable but not mandatory), from an accredited university.

Preparing Students for Residency Placement

Preparing our students to attain a medical school residency placement is one of AUC’s highest priorities. Each year, AUC graduates apply for and obtain residencies in a variety of postgraduate training programs throughout the world.

AUC offers the opportunity for eligible students with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Degree to apply for transfer admission with advanced standing to the Medical Doctor (MD) Degree Program from an accredited university. Students accepted for transfer admission with advanced standing must complete at least two years of medical education at AUC.
