- Jehad Zweiri
Jehad Zweiri, Ph.D., FHEA
Dr. Jehad Zweiri BSc, MSc, PhD, PGcert., FHEA, a Scientist in Molecular and Cellular medicine, and he is an Associate Professor at AUC School of Medicine's UK Track-Central Lancashire University, born and grew up in Jordan and received his bachelor’s degree of biomedical science and pharmacology from the University of Jordan. He obtained his master’s degree in Applied Molecular Biology and Immunology of Infectious Diseases from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine/University of London, and then obtained his PhD degree from Kings College Medical School/University of London, in the field of Immune Gene Therapy of Cancer. He then started his work as Postdoctoral Associate at the Imperial College London in molecular and cellular therapy of cancer and he subsequently was appointed as a Postdoctoral Associate Fellow in translational cancer therapeutics at the department of Immunology and Medicine at the University of Liverpool.
Dr. Zweiri was later appointed as a lecturer in Cancer studies, immunology and global infection/University of Liverpool Faculty of Medicine, and he became a Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy since. Dr Zweiri research focused on molecular and cellular therapy of colorectal cancer as well as ovarian cancer, using immune stimulatory genes and suicide genes in a preclinical model, and his research is published renowned international journals, and he is acting as a reviewer for some relevant scientific journals. He is also a Member of International Society for the Cell and Gene Therapy of Cancer and the British Society of Immunology.
Dr Zweiri has a long experience of learning and teaching in higher education institutions where he has direct involvement in teaching and organizing aspects of the medical curriculum. This considerable experience that he gained in translational research has enabled him to develop a solid understanding of the relevance of research to both health care delivery and the in-depth understanding of the pathology and treatment of disease. Furthermore, this experience allows him to develop and practice an evidenced based, research-led teaching approach to his interaction with medical students and the current curriculum.
Dr Zweiri is involved in organizing conferences and lecturing as an invited speaker in many meetings across UK, Europe, USA, Middle East, and Turkey. Dr. Zweiri has a special interest in Media consultancy & communicating scientific knowledge to public, he has contributions to current issues by writing articles and participation in live discussion episodes, he has contributed to a newsletter about Corona pandemic at Aljazeera network, as well as BBC network discussing various scientific issues related to research outcome and its possible application in medicine and its impact on society. Dr Zweiri brings 20 years of experience in Translational Biomedical Research, education, global network of academic relation, and leadership to the role.
