*The 3-year first-time residency attainment rate is the weighted average of the 2022-23, through 2024-25 academic years. For each year, the rate is the percent of students attaining a residency out of all graduates or expected graduates in the year who were active applicants in the NRMP match in that year or who attained a residency outside the NRMP match in that year. The 1-year first-time residency attainment rate is 95% for 2024-2025 graduates.

The residency process—everything down from applying, to interviewing, to ultimately matching—can be a daunting process for even the most self-assured medical school student. At American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), we offer our students a wide variety of services and resources to help them prepare for The MATCHSMprocess.
"There are lots of subtle nuances to understand about the residency application and interview process," says David Jones, director of AUC’s Office of Career Advisement (OCA).
"By the time our students are ready to graduate AUC, we’re confident in their foundational and clinical knowledge. For residencies, it’s just a matter of understanding the process. We can help with that."
Resources available to help AUC students thrive in the residency process include:
► Residency workshops. Students gain an understanding of the different components of the residency application process and learn about important factors that programs consider for granting interviews.
► Webinars. Students can learn about personal statements, curriculum vitae (CV), the medical school performance evaluation (MSPE) letter, letters of recommendation, and excelling at residency interviews.
► The MATCH Handbook. This all-in-one resource includes a residency preparation timeline, deadlines pertinent to AUC students and The MATCH process, tips for residency interviews, and much more.
► One-on-one coaching. OCA colleagues hold office hours on campus to provide individualized guidance.
► The Physician Match Advisor Program: A new initiative that “matches” a residency match advisor (generally a department chair or clinical director at an AUC-affiliated clinical site) with students, who would then receive one-on-one coaching about the residency process.
