*The 3-year first-time residency attainment rate is the weighted average of the 2022-23, through 2024-25 academic years. For each year, the rate is the percent of students attaining a residency out of all graduates or expected graduates in the year who were active applicants in the NRMP match in that year or who attained a residency outside the NRMP match in that year. The 1-year first-time residency attainment rate is 95% for 2024-2025 graduates.

- Melanie Chenette
Melanie Chenette, LPC, LMHC, ATR-BC, BC-TMH
Melanie Chenette, LPC, LMHC, ATR-BC, BC-TMH is the Director for Wellness. In this role, Melanie develops and implements programming around student wellbeing across AUC’s four-year program to help foster a culture of student success. Ms. Chenette has over 20 years of experience in higher education. She first joined AUC in 2020 as the clinical sciences wellness counselor and became Director of Wellness in 2023.
Melanie has spent her professional experience working with the field of higher education. Almost all this exposure being specific to helping students achieve their post baccalaureate professional goals. In addition to her university work, Melanie offered counseling services for 15+ years specific to counseling students and patients in a variety of treatment settings. These have included providing counseling in two hospitals, managing programs at the IOP and PHP level, developing an EDT program, and establishing an outpatient private practice.
Melanie received her B.A. in Integrative Studies from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Science degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Springfield College and a post professional degree certificate in Mediation from Roger Williams University of Law. She has a broad and unique base of experience counseling adults, couples, and families. Her therapeutic style combines an interpersonal approach with evidence-based care to help students achieve their individualized treatment and professional goals in a non-judgmental, empathetic safe space to help promote changes in cognitions or behaviors.
She currently resides with her family in Sint Maarten.
