Neha Dayalani-Vaswani, MD
Dr. Neha Dayalani-Vaswani is a board certified pediatrician from the American Board of Pediatrics. She has joined the Clinical Medicine Department as an Assistant Professor as of July 2023 and currently teaches all clinical medicine modules. She serves also as the faculty head of the Pediatric Interest Group and brings her clinical and educational experiences from USA in her teachings. She is also an Alumni of AUC, from where she graduated with her MD in 2017.
Dr. Dayalani-Vaswani completed her pediatric residency in Flint, Michigan at Hurley Children’s Hospital a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. During her time working as a pediatric resident in Michigan, the Flint water crisis had unfolded to reveal elevated blood lead levels in the city’s children. This brought on a huge responsibility to pediatricians in the city help in mitigating the detrimental health outcomes of lead exposure in the children.
During her time working as a pediatrician in the United states Dr. Dayalani-Vaswani has worked in various departments, including hematology-oncology, inpatient, outpatient, emergency, NICU and PICU. She has helped lead various quality improvement projects, including improvement of vision screening guidelines and techniques in children aged 3 to 5 years at well child visits.
Upon returning to the island of St. Maarten in 2020, Dr. Dayalani-Vaswani joined the public health department to work on COVID mitigation. She helped in the planning, launch and execution of the COVID vaccination campaign. With expertise in pediatric vaccinations, she helped launch the COVID vaccination campaign for children as well.
Now joining as a full time faculty at AUC, she is excited to bring her expertise back to her alma mater. She hopes to enrich the students with good clinical knowledge as well as guidance for the clinical road ahead of them at AUC.
