Peter Chovanec, PhD is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Molecular Cell Biology at AUC School of Medicine's UK Track program. Dr. Chovanec is on faculty at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston UK, where the program is delivered.
Dr. Peter Chovanec holds an MSc and PhD in biochemistry and biotechnology from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia.
From 2002-2011 Dr. Chovanec conducted post-doctoral research at large academic institutions including Stockholm University in Sweden, the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, and Duquesne University in the United States. His research, which focused on plant biology and proteomics in environmental and evolutionary studies, has been widely published in international journals and textbooks.
Dr. Chovanec has served as fulltime faculty at international medical schools in the Caribbean, including the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine in St. Eustatius, Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, and Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies. He has served as course director for biochemistry and genetics and has additional teaching experience in metabolism and nutrition, systems and disease IV, foundational and applied clinical correlate, medical microbiology and immunology, organic chemistry, and scientific foundations.
