As the next year of postgraduate training approaches, we are proud to recognize the many AUC graduates who have been named chief residents or fellows for the 2020-2021 year.
Graduates will now head to 38 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces to begin their residency training in 19 different specialties
Having started medical school with dreams of becoming a surgeon, Tayo Akadiri couldn’t wait to set foot in the operating room when it came time for clinical rotations. But his favorite part about his surgery clerkship ended up being the week he spent focused on anesthesiology.
In the past months, Dr. Branche has shifted her research focus to the COVID-19 pandemic, including a federally funded study of the immune response to the disease.

They met on the first day of orientation at AUC. Four years later, new graduates Brandon Katta and Taylor Abraham (MD ’20) are engaged and pursuing their shared dream of becoming surgeons together.
Toronto native Farshad Ghasemi, MD '19 will begin his internal medicine residency this summer at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, MB.
