Mounia Hanzazi, MIS

Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in Library Science from the Information Science School in Rabat, Morocco in 1998, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue her master’s degree in Information Systems in the United States. She earned her master’s degree at University of Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California in 2001.
Mounia has over 25 years of experience working at libraries and information centers in both Morocco, Canada, the US, and Barbados. Having overseen an academic multimedia center, she has experience developing computer, technology, search strategies and database training programs for students, staff, and faculty. She also has experience as a Children’s Librarian, Youth Services Specialist, Branch Head, Senior Branch Head, Electronic Services and Programs Specialist, Senior Services Specialist for Computer & Library training at some of the largest libraries in Toronto, and for the past 5 years as a Director of RUSM’s Virtual Library and Services as well as AUC’s Virtual and Physical Library in Sint Maartin.
Mounia also holds a degree in Classical Piano from the Conservatoire National de Music et de Dance in Rabat and has acted and directed in plays and acting and storytelling festivals in Toronto, the US and Morocco for more than 20 years. She is also speaks three languages. Mounia currently lives in Barbados where she enjoys swimming, yoga, surfing and has recently gotten certified as a Master Scuba Diver.
