The Obstetrics and Gynecology Interest Group (OBGIG) put on another of its "Round Robin" events, drawing students eager to engage in hands-on learning.
The event featured five interactive stations, each offering a unique opportunity to practice clinical skills and expand students' knowledge of women's health. The highlights included:
- Live birth simulation with a lifelike birthing model, demonstrating the basics of vaginal delivery by Associate Professor Dr. Maria Villagomez, along with OBGIG president Stephanie Iwuamadi.
- Breast examination techniques and signs and symptoms of breast cancer using a plastic model, instructed by Dr. Naira Chobanyan, an oncologist and professor of clinical medicine.
- HPV induced cervical cancer presentation by the Oncology Interest Group (OIC), supervised by Dr. Chobanyan
- Insights into critical gynecological procedures, such as IUD insertion and Pap smears and STI detection, from the Pathology Interest Group (PIG) in collaboration with OBGIG
This dynamic event provided participants with invaluable hands-on experience while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and a deeper understanding of women’s health issues.
