*The 3-year first-time residency attainment rate is the weighted average of the 2022-23, through 2024-25 academic years. For each year, the rate is the percent of students attaining a residency out of all graduates or expected graduates in the year who were active applicants in the NRMP match in that year or who attained a residency outside the NRMP match in that year. The 1-year first-time residency attainment rate is 95% for 2024-2025 graduates.
Faculty Supervised Research
Findings from these research projects are then developed and presented in international symposiums, giving additional visibility to the quality of education and experiences AUC students are provided.
21 Research Programs
Students have the ability to participate in over 21 research programs (listed on the student portal) and may be included as contributors to publications which can definitely make an impact in residency applications and interviews.
Medical Interest Groups
In addition to these opportunities, students participate in medical interest groups that give students opportunities to lean into specialties and hear from alumni in those specialty areas, participate in various workshops, etc.
Project H.E.L.P.
Students can participate in Project H.E.L.P. (Health, Education, Literacy and Prevention) which conducts health screenings such as breast abnormalities, prostate cancer, pediatric dental, skin cancer, and community-based participatory research projects occur through various community engagement projects.

SARC: Scholarly Activities and Research Committee
Every semester SARC and SGA sponsor students Research Symposium. Students have opportunities through the Students Interest Groups supervised by the faculty to participate in the symposium by conducting a review of the literature or clinical case presentation.
Research Symposium Categories
Students present their findings at a research symposium in a variety of categories such as:
- Clinical cases
- Biomedical sciences
- Social sciences
- Advances in medical technology
Awards and Certificate
First, second and third place are awarded with a certificate and a small award. All participating students receive a personalized certificate celebrating their individual efforts and achievements, underscoring the value of their commitment to advancing knowledge and research in our community.
Judges assess presentations on a variety of criteria.
4:1 Student to Faculty Ratio*
AUC is proud to tout our exceptional staff and faculty. Many of whom hold MDs and PhDs, have authored or contributed to articles in various areas of medical research, and a few have even been involved in patents. With AUC’s 4:1 student to faculty ratio *, students have regular accessibility to their instructors, and the ability to truly be mentored as they navigate medical school, specialties, and apply for residencies.
