The University of Wolverhampton and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding to creating a transformative 6-year BS-MD pathway for aspiring medical professionals.
This innovative partnership will offer eligible students a fast-tracked route to becoming qualified doctors, beginning with a 2-year accelerated Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree at the University of Wolverhampton, followed by direct entry into semester 2 of AUC’s 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme. *Students will benefit from clinical training opportunities across the UK, USA, and global health electives, culminating in progression to the US National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) or the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC) Foundation Year training pathways.
*Students will still need to go through the AUC admissions process. Pathway partnership agreements create eligibility for students who meet all criteria.
The pathway is designed to attract high-achieving students from the UK and internationally, with targeted recruitment in the UAE, Morocco, India, and the UK. Students will also be eligible for substantial scholarships, including the AUC International Scholarship up to $90,000 USD for applicants who provide evidence of graduation at an international undergraduate university OR any accredited university outside of the student’s home country.

The first cohort is expected to begin in Autumn 2026.
