It’s officially Match Week, the time when medical students around the country prepare to learn where they will be doing residency. The week culminates in Match Day on Friday, March 16 with the reveal of participants’ residency placement. For AUC students, the news comes in the form of an email at 1:00pm ET from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). While the wait to Friday can feel agonizing, Match Day is one of the most anticipated and exciting day in students’ medical career.
Last year, 274 AUC graduates attained residencies in 20 different specialties, including Anesthesiology, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Child Neurology, Internal Medicine, and more. They did so at 187 different residency programs across 34 states and Washington, DC. This year, as we head into Match Day, AUC anticipates another successful season.
To celebrate Match Day, AUC is hosting five events. In the US, match participants and third and fourth year clinical students can attend Match Day evening receptions (7-9pm) in Detroit, Miami, and New York. In Sint Maarten and Preston, UK, medical sciences students are invited to Match Day gatherings on campus. Click an event below to RSVP for an even near you.

AUC’s Match Week Schedule
Monday, March 12
At 11:00am ET, students and graduates participating in the Match will receive an email from the NRMP confirming if they have matched into a residency.
At the same time, the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program® (SOAP®) will open. AUC’s Office of Career Advisement (OCA) is available and ready to assist unmatched students who are eligible for the SOAP. Contact OCA by email at ospd@aucmed.edu or by phone at 305-446-0600 (option 6).
At 12:00pm ET, SOAP applicants can start preparing applications in the AAMC ERAS® system. Remember you cannot contact a program; the program must first contact you.
Wednesday, March 14
At 12:00pm ET, SOAP applicants will receive their Round 1 offers and will have until 2:00pm ET to accept or reject it.
At 3:00pm ET, SOAP applicants will receive their Round 2 offers and will have until 5:00pm ET to accept or reject it.
Thursday, March 15
At 9:00am ET, SOAP applicants will receive their Round 3 offers and will have until 11:00am ET to accept or reject it.
Friday, March 16
At 1:00pm ET, students and graduates going through the Match will receive an email from the NRMP with their residency placement.
From 2:00-4:00pm, AUC will host a Match Day event on campus for Sint Maarten students and colleagues.
From 7:00-9:00pm, AUC will host Match Day events in Detroit, Miami, New York and on our temporary campus in Preston, UK.
