UK Track Students Celebrate Medical School Milestones

Hosted in the Mitchell and Kenyon Cinema on the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) campus, the event commemorated new students’ official entrance into medical school and recognized continuing students’ outstanding academic achievements.

UK Track Student Dhir Gala Champions the Human Connection in Health Care

During the October 2021 White Coat Ceremony for American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC)’s UK Track program, third-year student Dhir Gala shared this message of encouragement to his medical school peers: “You are the patient’s light at one of the darkest times. At that moment, you are the person when they reveal their innermost fears and worries, and it is your compassion, intelligence, and discipline that guides their care and their hope. My hope is you will hone those skills as you progress through medical school so that you will always bring compassionate care to your practice.”

At age 8, Fadi saw his brother diagnosed with nephrolithiasis after experiencing chest pains—a scary experience. Fortunately, his family was able to get him to medical professionals in time but the same wasn’t always true for those in his community.

AUC, Red Cross Launch First Aid Awareness Campaign

The Red Cross Sint Maarten First Aid Awareness campaign featuring AUC’s Stop the Bleed program kicked off on Saturday, September 11—the first in a series of free training sessions demonstrating critical first aid skills throughout September and October.
